Directions

Turtle Feathers is located in the Smoky Mountains, and is very easy to find. We do not have a retail storefront, but gladly welcome visitors by appointment. Ronna will give a personal tour of the Turtle Feathers compound, and we can personally answer any questions about our products. Often times, same day appointments will pose no problem, but, please understand that due to our demanding schedule, 'Drop In' visitors will not be accommodated.

Most of our guests come to Bryson City from NC Highway 74. Other options are NC 19, or State Highway 1321. The thumbnail maps to the left link to full size images. The top map links to a regional map, and the bottom map shows the closest available view of our location. The maps in between graduate from the larger region view through to the closest view. Each full size map is print ready. All maps are from MapQuest, the official map source for Turtle Feathers. Map F gives the best view for arriving from Highway 74 or Highway 19.We use MapQuest exclusively for trip planning to the many shows that we attend every year, and recommend that all of our visitors get full directions from MapQuest before setting out on any trip.

Sadly, Mapquest does not give very good directions to Turtle Feathers once you get to Bryson City. The directions below are much better. From Highway 74 at Exit #67, it is only 1.4 miles to Turtle Feathers, and only two turns are made.

From Highway 74 at Exit #67:
Head into town one mile, to the flashing red light at Bryson Walk. Immediately off the highway, the road will be called Veterans Blvd., which becomes Slope Street after about .6 miles, at the intersection of Highway 19.
Veterans Blvd./Slope Street will cross Highway 19. (If coming in on Highway 19, join the parade by turning onto Veterans Blvd., which at this point becomes Slope Street.
Almost immediately (.1 mile), cross the Tuckasegee River.
Continue past the post office on the right, over the railroad tracks of the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, and stop at the flashing red light. This is Bryson Walk. Turn left. Note: This is a two way stop only. Use caution turning onto Bryson Walk.
Go .2 miles, and turn right onto Park Avenue.
Park Avenue will immediately sweep left and up, to the top of the hill. Go .2 miles. Turtle Feathers is the second building on the right, at 160 Park Avenue. The first building on the right is trimmed in red, and Turtle Feathers is trimmed in green. (This helps to provide an especially festive atmosphere on our hilltop during the holidays.)
Note: Highway 74 (Along its length, 74 is but one of the many numbers/names that it is known by.), is a speed trap from Waynesville, all the way through to Bryson City. Use caution.
